The purpose of District 618 is to serve the needs of the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) groups within its geographical area and to act as a constituent part of the South Eastern New York Area 49 Committee and Assembly of AA (sometimes called SENY South East New York) as well as the Manhattan General Service Meeting (MGSM) of AA.
The area served by District 618 is defined on the Manhattan District Map, dated April 15, 2008 – all groups west of Central Park and Morningside Avenue between 74th Street and 125th Street
